Youth can join Scouts BSA if they have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old, OR have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, OR are age 11 but have not reached age 18. The best time for individuals or friends of current troop members to check it out is at one of our upcoming Monday night troop meetings. Our troop usually meets on Monday evening from 7:00-8:30PM at Memorial Lutheran Church of Afton. Check our Calendar page for upcoming meetings and events!

Our Mission

Troop 9226’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. We aim to prepare every eligible youth to become a responsible, participating citizens and leaders in a fun and safe environment!

Why Join Scouts BSA?

For more than 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.

Troop Survey

Parents who demonstrate the values of scouting through their PARTICIPATION are the heart and soul of a successful troop! You don’t need to have any special abilities to make a huge difference in a scout’s life. Although Troop 9226 is scout lead, adult leaders and volunteers have critical roles to play as mentors, instructors, and guides. Take this 10 minute survey to learn how you can contribute to our troop’s ongoing success!
